Abstract

Rooftop solar power plants are a technology that has proven itself positively in various countries of the world. In Russia, this area of solar energy development has not yet revealed its potential, but it is extremely promising for achieving the goals of the low-carbon strategy of the Russian Federation and the development of renewable energy sources (RES). To assess the potential of rooftop photovoltaics in 2023, the Earth Concerns Everyone project, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Center, published an overview of the possibilities of this technology for adapting energy systems to heat waves. The presented review may become one of the starting points for a discussion about new technological niches for renewable energy in the country's energy system.
