In a series of three articles, issues related to the use of STEM technology (Science - science, Technology - technology, Engineering - engineering, Mathematics - mathematics) in modern education are considered on the basis of solving a large number of problems from various subject areas studied at an educational institution. The most appropriate Russian name for this technology is MIT (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering). MIT is this: students come to a classroom equipped with computing equipment, or remotely connect from home, and spend the whole day (with breaks for physical education and lunch) solving interesting natural science and engineering problems, for example, designing a suspended cable car. To solve such a problem, of course, you need mathematics, physics, copromat, chemistry (corrosion processes), economics (what will all this result in for money), design (an engineering structure must certainly be beautiful). On other school days, students can go to classes in the listed disciplines and deepen their knowledge and skills in these areas, while being well aware of what they are needed for. (To be continued)
