Pavel Aleksandrovich Florensky, a graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Moscow State University and the Moscow Theological Academy, whose 140th birthday was celebrated in 2022, is well known as a priest and philosopher who died tragically in 1937. It is not so widely known that he is an outstanding physicist and mathematician, a deep and original scientist. The philosopher Sergei Nikolaevich Bulgakov, who knew him closely, wrote about him: “He is a rare and exceptional polyhyster... I knew him as a mathematician and physicist, theologian and philologist, philosopher, historian of religions, poet, connoisseur and connoisseur of art.”
